This is what exists before the Scholar gets her hands on it.

These are The Madwoman’s raw working notes, published as they actually exist in the research vault. They are not essays, finished interpretations, or even particularly well-behaved notes.

They are a mixed bag of the insightful, the speculative, the unfinished, and the occasionally cursed.

You’ll find observations that eventually became major Archive findings sitting beside questions that went nowhere. Definitions. Connections. Contradictions. Half-built theories. Sudden revelations. Notes written entirely in shorthand. Things that made perfect sense at 2:14 in the morning. Things that may never make sense again.

You will also find an unreasonable number of unfinished thoughts.

This is because The Madwoman has a chronic inability to finish investigating one interesting thing before noticing another interesting thing and running after it instead. A note may simply stop because something three lines above opened a door somewhere else.

Eventually, the Scholar gets a crack at all of this. She tests it, checks the evidence, follows the connections, separates what the language actually supports from what merely seemed possible in the moment, and preserves what survives.

This is before that happens.

Nothing here should be treated as an established Archive finding simply because The Madwoman wrote it down. For reviewed, structured research, use The Scholar’s Notebook.

But if you want to see where that research comes from, including the wrong turns, dangling threads, strange little questions, and occasional WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT DOING THERE?

Welcome to the margins.

Mind the spaghetti.
